Simple Steps to Declutter & Freshen Up Your Bathroom
A clean and decluttered bathroom can get your day off to a great start. Here are five simple steps to get you going:
1. Clear the Space
The best first step in almost every organizational project is to completely clear the room. Something about emptying the room, even of things you know you will put back, helps to inspire you to only put back what is necessary and what contributes to the beauty or functionality of the space.
2. Toss Out Old Items
Toss out old and expired cosmetics, medications, lotions, cleaning products and any items you haven’t used in the last year. Be ruthless in your decluttering! Your room will feel refreshed when you have cleared out unneeded items and you’ll be more inclined to keep it free of clutter.
3. Deep Clean
While the room is clear, take this time to deep clean. Use your favorite cleaning products to clean the sink, shower or tub, toilet, light switches, counter, mirrors, inside drawers and cabinets, and floors. Make the room sparkle and shine. Step back and admire your progress.
4. Put Back and Organize
Next, bring back the items you want to keep, this time with a new organizational plan in mind. Consider adding hooks and stackable plastic dividers and drawers in cabinets to fill the space available and help organize beauty products, toiletries, your hair dryer, etc. Add drawer dividers to separate and organize items to make it easier to find exactly what you need.
5. Add In Some Pretty
Finally, add a few pretty touches to your bathroom. You deserve it after all that work! Bring in some items like fluffy new towels, a shower curtain, a soap dispenser, a candle, a jar of nice-smelling bath salts, or a cheery bunch of flowers in a vase. Not only will you enjoy being in the space, but you’ll be inspired to keep it clean and tidy with these pretty final touches!
Enjoy your newly refreshed bathroom!
